Revelation 1 (NIV)
Prologue
1 The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave him to turn his servants what have to quickly come about. He made it popular through sending his angel to his servant John, 2 who testifies to all the pieces he saw—that is, the notice of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ. three Blessed is the person who reads aloud the phrases of this prophecy, and blessed are folks that pay attention it and take to coronary heart what's written in it, as the time is close to.

Greetings and Doxology
four John,

To the seven church buildings inside the province of Asia:

Grace and peace to you from him who's, and who become, and who's to return, and from the seven spirits[a] earlier his throne, five and from Jesus Christ, who's the devoted witness, the firstborn from the useless, and the ruler of the kings of the earth.

To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by means of his blood, 6 and has made us to be a kingdom and clergymen to serve his God and Father—to him be glory and gear with no end in sight! Amen.

7 “Look, he's coming with the clouds,”[b]
and “every eye will see him,
even individuals who pierced him”;
and all peoples on the earth “will mourn on account of him.”[c]
So shall it's! Amen.

eight “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says our lord god, “who is, and who was once, and who's to come back, the Almighty.”

John’s Imaginative and prescient of Christ

And once i grew to become I observed seven golden lampstands, thirteen and many of the lampstands was once human being like a son of guy,[d] wearing a gown achieving right down to his toes and with a golden sash round his chest. 14 The hair on his head become white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes have been like blazing fireplace. 15 His ft had been like bronze gleaming in a furnace, and his voice become just like the sound of speeding waters. sixteen In his desirable hand he held seven stars, and popping out of his mouth was once a pointy, double-edged sword. His face turned into just like the sunlight shining in all its brilliance. evening

17 After i observed him, I fell at his ft as if useless. Then he put his perfect hand on me and referred to: “Do no longer be afraid. I'm the primary and the Final. 18 I'm the Residing One; I used to be useless, and now appearance, I'm alive ad infinitum! And that i carry the keys of demise and Hades.

19 “Write, due to this fact, what you have got observed, what's now and what's going to come about later. 20 The secret of the seven stars that you just noticed in my correct hand and of the seven golden lampstands is that this: The seven stars are the angels[e] of the seven church buildings, and the seven lampstands are the seven church buildings.
